The workers of the self-schools in Bizkaia are starting their third day of strike

The workers of the autoschools of Bizkaia have started on Monday thethird dayof strike called for this month  with a demonstration that took place at 08:30 in the morning from the Doña Casilda Park in Bilbao Bilbo, demanding, among other things, an improvement in working conditions and denouncing that the employers are blocking efforts to reach a new agreement.

The unions have been negotiating with the employers for seven months, but after several meetings they have not reached an agreement, so the workers have been taken out on the streets by ELA and CC.OO. The two previous calls took place on 7 and 16 July and the workers gave them a broad response 0.

According to the trade unions, there has been no improvement in the sectoral agreement, which has not been updated for more than a decade despite numerous negotiating meetings, including those calling for a wage increase and denouncing that the proposal made by the APAVI employers (2.5% increase) is well below the CPI.

On 15 July , the last meeting between the parties took place, but there was no progress. The representatives of ELA have explained that the employers did not take "any step forward, but rather some step backwards." That is why Ainhoa Tirapu has said that they are "pushing the collective to strike."

The CC.O. representative also noted a backward step in the position of the APAVI Patrol at the meeting on 15, adding that they hope to have a "different position" at the next meeting, on 2 September.
