AEMET has issued a red alert to Catalonia for DANA and has withdrawn it in Aragon
The Spanish State Agency for Meteorology (AEMET) has activated the red warning in Catalonia and deactivated it in Aragon. Agence indicates that the rainfall caused by DANAcould cause water accumulations of 90 litres per square metre to fail in an hour.
In Catalonia, the agency has issued a red warning throughout Lleida, north of Tarragona, centre of Barcelona and coast of Barcelonauntil at least 17:00.
In the rest of Catalonia, however, the orange warning will be maintained for precipitation of between 50 and 60 litres in an hour.
On the other hand, Aragon has moved from the red warning to orange, where precipitation of 50 litres per square metre is expected in an hour.
Trains cancelled in Catalonia
Renfe has reported that all trains and services in Catalonia have been suspended on Saturday afternoon.
"Depending on the evolution of weather conditions, rail service will resume," Renfe said.
Aragon, back to normal
Aragon is trying to restore normalcy after the storms that have crossed the Spanish state since yesterday.
The Aragon Government itself has reported that emergency service 112 has received some 30 incidents until 9 p.m. on Friday.
The most affected regions have been Tarazona and Moncayo (Zaragoza), where trees have fallen and water has accumulated on roads, garages, homes and shops.
