Anjel Lertxundi will be awarded at the Irun Literature Awards
On 22 November, starting at 7.30 p.m., the Kutxa Foundation will host the 46th edition of the Irun Literature Awards at the Irun Conservatory, where theliterary career of Anjel Lertxundi will be rewarded, in recognition of the Itinerary Award, by a jury composed of the Association of Basque Publishers (EVE), the Association of Basque Writers (EIE), the Association of Translators and Interpreters (EIZIE).
Anjel Lertxundi has cultivated all fields of literature: novels, stories, translations, newspaper articles and columns, essays and children's and youth literature. In 1970 he published his first book, Hunik arratsats artean, and in 2024, the dictionary of Berbelitz.
He has collaborated with the press, has also been a film director (he adapted his book for cinema in the sixteenth century) and has also worked as a television screenwriter.
He won the National Prize for Criticism in 1983 and 1991 for his works Sixteenth Aid and Captain Fracasa . In 1999 he received the Basque Prize for Wax Days and in 2010 the Spanish National Essay Prize for Papers of Experience . In 2010 he received the Rosalía de Castro Prize for his literary career.
Irun Literature Award
During the event, the winners of the four modalities of the contest will be awarded: Garazi Kamio Anduaga for his novel Moebiusen Ertzak in Basque; Karlos Linazasoro Izagirre for his work Bazterutzietan in the section of poetry in Basque; Mario Marini for his novel CMYK in Spanish; and Marina Casado for his work Un mar que nadie mira in Spanish.
In addition to these works, the jury made special mention of the novel by Txema García-Viana , Viana, Viana, Viana, in Euskera, and Las Heras, by Maite López, Oren hila, in Basque poetry.
