Osakidetza has 1,300 women victims of sexual assault since 2021
Forty per cent of the victims who have received health care are minors, 88 girls were under the age of 6.
Since 2021, the Basque Health Service has treated about 1,300 women victims of sexual assault, of whom40% were not of age.
This data is collected in a reply addressed to Vox by Alberto Martínez, in which Vox asks how many women have been treated by Osakidetza since 2021 after being sexually assaulted, so the Department of Health has determined that about 1,300 women have been treated in public health services until September of this year.
The number has been increasing year after year; 2021 was 179. This figure rose to 252 in 2022, to 268 in 2023 and to 374 in 2024. In addition, 299 cases have been dealtwith since the beginning of the year. The Department of Health has specified that the sum of all years does not correspond to the total amount, since the same woman may have several diagnoses and the same diagnosis may be in different age groups.
The largest group is women betweenthe agesof 19 and 29, namely 402 cases. 153 women are between the ages of 30 and 39, 162 are between the ages of 40 and 49, 234 are between the ages of 50 and 79 and one is over 80.
