The Vitoria-Gasteiz LEA-Lascaray Personal Hygiene Products Company, whichburnedlast Friday , has informed the works council of its intention to propose a temporary employment regulation dossier "for force majeure", which would affect about 100 of the 120 workers currently on the staff.
The company has reported in a statement that today the management has held a meeting with the workers' representatives, who have been sent the proposal for a temporary ERTE after the fire destroyed almost the entire plant, and that the management has maintained a "very understanding" attitude towards the works council.
He explained that talks on ERTE will continue in the coming days. "Important steps are being taken to ensure the company's activity and employment, which is the main objective," he said.
From a hotel to offices in Hydralle
Due to the impossibility of working in the affected facilities, the company moved to a hotel to meet orders and meet commitments to customers and suppliers.
Since Thursday, the company has announced the temporary use of some offices of the Hydralab Innovation and Creativity Center in Álava.
