Five Gazatese children arrive in the Basque Country today for specialized medical care
The Health Counselor, Alberto Martínez, has confirmed that five Gazatese children will arrive in the Basque Country today and will be treated in Basque hospitals for their health needs. The minors, who suffer from traumatological, cardiological and oncological pathologies , are part of a larger group that landed this morning at the Torrejón de Ardoz airbase and have arrived with their families.
At Dr. Areilza's outpatient clinic in the Indautxu district of Bilbao, Martinez has detailed that the children are divided into three hospitals : two at Cruces Hospital, two at Donostia Hospital and one at Basurto Hospital.
The Counsellor has highlighted the cooperation between the Basque institutions and the State authorities in making possible this health reception, which is part of a programme of humanitarian care for minors from the Gaza Strip.
Martinez has stressed that "the Basque medical teams are prepared to provide the best possible care for children and to support their families in this process "and has highlighted the solidarity of the Basque health system in the face of international emergencies.
