Santos Cerdán refuses to act as a deputy

Following the publication of the UCO report, Santos Cerdán resigned on Thursday, including his position in the PSOE Executive and his seat in Congress. And at the press conference that afternoon, Pedro Sánchez, the president said that he had asked for this resignation from the Secretary of the Organization until then. "We should not trust him," Sanchez admitted by apologizing.
By resigning his seat, Cerdán has lost the aphority of the deputies and has informed Judge Leopoldo Puente, who is investigating the 'Koldo case' in the Supreme Court.
Once the Minutes of Deputies have been handed over, Cerdán shall be entitled to compensation of almost EUR 19 000 for having been a Member of Parliament for more than six years, as provided for in the Social Protection Regime of Deputies.
Cerdán acquired the seat on May 21, 2019, and will have a six-month compensation of €3,142.14 each, i.e. €18,853.84. This "unemployment benefit" is incompatible with any other remuneration, whether public or private, and will therefore be paid monthly.
