Renfe will suspend train service in a section of Gipuzkoa from today because of the TAV's work
Rail traffic between Andoain and Irun will be interrupted until 3 August, from 4 August to 7 September, the section between Hernani and Irun will be cut and, finally, from 8 to 21 September, the section between Pasaia and Irun will be affected.
As of today, Renfe's train service in Gipuzkoa will be interrupted, and due to the High Speed Train (TAV) and other necessary infrastructure work, the service will be provided by bus.
Renfe has stated in a statement that as a result of these work, rail service will be suspended between 25 July and21 September on certain sections of the suburban service and on medium and long distance routes.
The impact of the TAV works on train traffic is expected in three phases .
Between 25 July and 3 August, rail traffic between Andoain and Irun will be cut, during which time buses will be scheduled between Andoain and Irun in both directions, with stops in Andoain, Urnieta, Hernani, Donostia, Gros, Ategorrieta, Intxaurrondo, Herrera, Pasaia, Lezo Errenteria, Sales and Irun.
Subsequently, from 4 August to 7 September , the section between Hernani and Irun will be interrupted. Between Hernani and Irun, buses will be scheduled in both directions, with stops in Hernani, San Sebastián, Gros, Ategorrieta, Intxaurrondo, Herrera, Pasaia, Lezo Errenteria, Sales and Irun.
Finally, from 8 to 21 September , only the section between Pasaia and Irun will be interrupted. Between Pasaia and Irun, buses will be scheduled in both directions, with stops in Pasaia, Lezo Errenteria, Sales of Irun and Irun.
