Five workers have been burned this afternoon, two of them seriously, as a result of a deflagration at a chemical company located in the Bilbao Superport in Zierbena, according to the Basque Government's Department of Safety.
The explosion occurred around 5:10 p.m. at ASK Chemicals, a silo with magnesium powder, apparently carrying out cleaning and evacuation work, but there has been no fire.
Fire brigade, ambulances, Ertzaintza, Local Police and an emergency technician from the Basque Government have moved all the wounded to Cruces hospital, three of whom have only mild burns in their hands, while two have severe burns.
