PNV and PSE-EE pass a law on urgent housing measures to build faster and more
The bill, promoted by government partners, prohibits new tourist housing in strained areas and will reduce the number of protected housing in new residential areas from 75% to 60%.
On Thursday, the Basque Parliament, with the support of PNV and PSE-EE, adopted the Urgent Housing Measures Act, which, among other things, will make it possible to speed up administrative procedures and ban new tourist flats in tense areas.
The draft law has been promoted and tabled by the PNV and the PSE-EE through the urgent procedure, which has led to a significant reduction in the deadlines and procedures (previous reports and economic memory) that the legal text must pass in the Basque Parliament, which has also prevented the parliamentary groups from tabling amendments to the whole.
As planned, EH Bildu, PP, Sinte and Vox voted against, and the partial amendments tabled by them were rejected by PNV and PSE-EE.
The legal text shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country.
