Petronor called off the strike after the company refused to take legal action
The unions have called off the indefinite strike, in agreement with the management, after 83 days of unemployment.
The unions of the Petronor Works Council (ELA, CCOO, UGT and TU) have decided to call off the indefinite strike after 83 days of unemployment and to resume negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement of the Muskiz (Bizkaia) plant.
In a statement, ELA has announced that the decision has been agreed with Petronor's management, in return for which the company has agreed to "renounce the judicial route to resolve the conflict."
However, if working conditions do not improve, the union does not rule out calling stops.
The indefinite strike began on 25 September, with explicit support from 91% of workers.
The aim of unemployment was to protest against the "extension of the clandestine working day" that the use of the new locker rooms installed at the entrance to the Bizkaia refinery implies for the staff.
