The workers of the Reunited Tubes of Amurrio and Trapagaran are called this Tuesday to a24-hour stop , the first of five daysof protest, to protest againstthe ERE that provides for the dismissal of (274 of the redundancies are planned at the Amurrio factory).
The Works Councils and Management will meet from 11:00.
Tubos Reunidos informed the Works Council on 9 February that it had launched a\u00A0 feasibility plan , which provides for an ERE for 301 people at the Amurrio (Álava) and Trapagaran (Bizkaia) plants, of which 87 are temporary workers and 214 are permanent workers.
As explained by the management, the plan focuses on three main areas: commercial diversification, cost reduction and debt restructuring to ensure the continuity of activity and the recovery of economic viability in the medium term.
The workers are very angry and demand different solutions. The works council of the Tubos Reunidos plant in Amurrio decided last Tuesday to make five 24-hour stops for 17, 23 and 26 February and 4 and 9 March and a few days in February and March. Subsequently, representatives of the LAB and ESK unions at the Trapagaran plant, who are in the minority on the works council, made the same call for their workshop.
The Works Council held a meeting on Friday with the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Álava and the municipalities of Amurrio and Trapagaran, stressing from the institutions the need to restructure the debt and showing the commitment of all actors to continue the search for a solution.
