Ehgame calls for boycotting the Bilbao Bizkaia Harro initiative
The PNV has denounced the "takeover and touring" of International Pride Day and has called for the "popular and vindictive" demonstration called by Coordinator E28 for 28 June.
The Ehgam Bilbo+ group has called for a boycott of the Bilbao Bizkaia Harro project and for not participating in the activities organized within it . They have denounced that it is an initiative organized by the PNV "as an urban business to attract rich white gay tourism to Bilbao", with which the Bilbao City Council intends to "boycott and completely prevent the traditional demonstrations and subsequent celebrations of the 28A."
In the manifesto, which has been disseminated to the media, Ehgame states that the City Council has carried out "various folkloric and tourist-neo-liberal essays" to take over the day of 28 June, when the rights of the LGTBI+ group were claimed, "establishing the same mercantilist model as the macrofestivals", using the LGBT association Ortzadar.
The Ehgam group has described what the Bilbao City Council, the Bizkaia Council and Basquetour have spent as' shameful 'and believes that this year' they have broken all records'.
In addition to the parade of chariots on 21 June, mention has been made of the gigantic concert they have organized for 28 June, which will take place in the Arenal, where the demonstration of that day usually ends, so that, in the group's view, the City Council intends to "boycott and completely prevent the demonstration and subsequent traditional celebrations" with this concert.
Ehgam Bilbo+ has announced its commitment to the demonstration that will leave La Casilla at 12:00, convened by Coordinator E28, and has called for "a boycott of the crazy programming that the PNV of Bilbao has organized from the City Council through the tourist plan Bilbao Bizkaia Harro".
