The Peruvian restaurant Maido has been named the best in the world at the 2025 The World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards and the Algerian Mohamed Benabdallah of the Etxebarri grill has been named the best sumiller in the world.

Gure Zirkua received this afternoon, at an event held at the top of Arrate (Eibar), this year's Abbey Award for offering an entire community "an innovative place to live and feel together in Euskera."  The memory of the Abbey Award has been received by Deputy General Eider Mendoza – sculpture Seven Petalos by Iñigo Aristegui.
