Riots on St. John's Night in Hernani: fighting, stabbing and at least one detainee
Last night there were numerous incidents in Hernani, according to Euskadi Irratia, at different times and places. The City Council has reported that for the time being it is not clear whether these incidents are related to each other. There have been fights between different groups and a witness has explained that there have also been stabbings, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Department of Safety and Security has confirmed the arrest of a person. According to sources, the Municipal Police have requested assistance in controlling the situation and upon the arrival of the Ertzaintza they have received them by throwing objectsat them. In this regard, a person has been arrested.
For the time being, no injuries have been reported and the City Council is gathering information. Municipal sources have indicated that the incidents have taken place at different times (at least 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.) and that the possible connection between them is being investigated.
