The Comparsa de Gigantes, the Cofradía de la Virgen Blanca and the three Celedones de Oro will blow a blow in Vitoria
Joseba Perea, Blanca Aguillo, Joseba Fiestras, Satur Garcia and Begoña Dívar will be responsible for launching the txupinazo.
The PP's municipal spokesman, Iñaki García Calvo, has presented the people chosen to launch the txupinazo of the festivities of the White Virgin of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The PP spokesman at Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, Iñaki García Calvo, has entrusted the Comparsa de Gigantes, Cabezudos, Equestrian y Chotos, the Cofradía de la Virgen Blanca and three people known as Celedones de Oro with the launch of the txupinazo to start the festival of the Virgin Blanca on August 4.
Thus, the President of the Comparsa de Gigantes, Joseba Perea, the new Abbess ofthe Brotherhood of the White Virgin, Blanca Aguillo, and three people who have stood out for their contribution in Vitoria, recognized in the cultural, social and projection fields of the city, will launch the txupinazo three Celedons of Gold, Joseba Fiestras, Satur García and the musician Begoña Dívar .
García Calvo has stressed that it is"a real honour" to delegate responsibility for the launch of the blow shot to these institutions and individuals who are "linked to the essence of the White Virgin's festivities and the identity of our city."
The Comparsa de Gigantes, Cabezudos, Horses, and Chicks was founded in 1917. It was first composed of four giants of cardboard stone and wicker, representing the peasants of the Alavesa Mountain and the peasants of Aramaio, and four heads: Celedon, the painter of Vitoria, Eskatxpobre and Katxan.
Over the years, materials have been changed to gain greater resistance and new figures and people have been incorporated into the group, and the comparison has been professionalized.
Likewise, the Brotherhood of the White Virgin, an institution with more than 410 years of history in the city, has been chosen because it "deserved" to be the protagonist, as highlighted by the PP municipal spokeswoman.
This association, which has more than 3,000 members, organizes many events around the White Virgin during the festivities, including the Procession of the Lanterns on the night of August 4 or the Rosary of the Aurora on the morning of the big day of the Festivities.
Finally, García Calvo has listed with them the three Celedones of Gold that stand out for their contribution to the city: Joseba Fiestras, Satur Garcia and the musician Begoña Dívar.
