Zarautz City Council will ban smoking on the beach and the use of speakers
The House unanimously approved the new regulation, but the deadline for making allegations remains open until 6 August.

Zarautz (Gipuzkoa) will ban smoking and the use of speakers on the local beach. The second deputy mayor, InaxioIllarramendi , spokesman for the PSE-EE and councillor for Animal Welfare, Sport and the Environment, has explained to ETB that the measure had already been approved unanimously in plenary.
However, from the end of last month, a deadline was opened for the submission of allegations to the new ordinance, which will end on 6 August .
The Second Deputy Mayor has specified that, if there are no allegations, the new regulation would be published in the Official Gazette and would enter into force at the end of the beach season, but if there were, a technical report would be drawn up in response to the allegations and the necessary changes to the rule, in which case the measure would have to be approved at the first plenary session in September and would enter into force next summer.
Illarramendi said, "There may be allegations, you don't know that, but we believe that the changes we have made are positive, that they will be welcomed by the citizens."
"We believe that the ban on smoking and the use of speakers are measures that will be well taken and will not have many detractors," the councilwoman insisted.
