Navarra and the Basque Country were the two communities with the highest rate of hate crimes last year, according to a report released this Friday by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, which put the incidence rate in Navarre at 14 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, ahead of the Basque Autonomous Community (10.8).
Most hate crimes (801) were related to racism or xenophobia, although they fell by 6.07 per cent from the previous year, followed by those related to sexual orientation and identity (528) and gender or sex (181).
Although not listed at the top of the list, those related to A0antisemitism were the ones that increased the most (60.9%).
