The President of the Valencian Government, Carlos Mazón, has been called for a mass demonstration on Tuesday afternoon, nine months after the high depression that caused 228 deathsin the province of Valencia (also called the Upper Blur or GOIDI).
Today's mobilisation will be the ninth and will take place, for the first time, in Catarroja, one of the municipalities called Ground Zero of the Depression of the Upper Zone. All previous mobilizations have taken place in the capital Valencia, once a month and around 29 days.
Like the previous ones, some 200 associations and organizations have called for a demonstration in conjunction with the victims' associations. The mobilization will take place in Catarroja from 19:00. The municipality was one of the most affected by the holidays and the second where the most people died.
In addition to denouncing the Generalitat's management of the tragedy and calling for Mazon's resignation, they will take advantage of today's meeting to remember the victims and pay tribute to the volunteers who helped in the days that followed, as well as planting an olive tree and making a wall image.
At the end of the march, a manifesto will be read calling for "truth, justice and dignified treatment."
