Bakio will celebrate the San Juan Doloz Festivities from 28 to 31 August. As for the festive program, the City Council has suspended the night events of the 29th, a holiday that has been marked in recent years by "an increase in violence". "There have been numerous macho attacks, as well as fights, which have damaged the festive atmosphere," explained the Bizkaia City Council.
In a statement, the City Council has stated that its objective and that of the Festival Commission is to strengthen public safety, which is why they have called for the holidays to be held "with respect" and have made it clear that they will not tolerate any kind of aggression, so there will be no DJ shows on the night of San Juan Doloz.
In order to protect the population, as in previous years, services for the prevention of male violencewill be provided . From 28 August (from 20:00) until 1 September (08:00) there will be 24-hour telephone service at 656 78 86 21. Similarly, at night, from 00:00 to 08:00, a hotline will be set up at the Txakoli Centre.
On the other hand, for two days there will be an information point on the street: on 28 August in Zubiaurre, from 21:00 to 00:00, and on 31 August in Urizar, from 17:00 to 20:00.
The parties will officially start on August 28, but the events will also take place the previous days. The members of the Bakio Surf Group will launch the party txupinazo.
The music will be very present at the San Juan Doloz parties. In the streets, in the squares, there will be txistularis, charangas and romeries. Zea mays will perform on August 30 in Zubiaurre.
