The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, travelled to Galicia on Sunday to respond to the latest fires in the area, which are active in some cases, especially in the province of Ourense.
While ensuring that it will provide the Xunta with the means necessary to surround and extinguish the 12 fires that still threaten Galicia, Sanchez has announced a "grand pact of state" to combat the climate emergency, involving all institutions and civil society.
