The Board of Trustees of the Guggenheim Museum in Urdaibai has definitively suspended the project. At this afternoon's meeting, it was proposed to reject the project and the majority voted on it at a subsequent press conference.
After two years of studying the project, and after many discussions, they have concluded that it is not feasible.
The Board of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is one of the highest governing bodies of the Museum and is composed of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. Both institutions have shown their willingness to collaborate with the Foundation in any future projects that it may have in mind.
