Helicopter rescue of a rugged climber in Egino
The 23-year-old woman had a bleeding wound to her head and was stunned.
A Ertzaintza helicopter rescued a 23-year-old climber in the Alavesa town of Egino on Saturday who had apparently suffered an accident in which the young man suffered a bleeding head wound and was unwell.
The Basque Country Emergency Services received the warning at around 1300 hours and moved to the site.
The victim and his companion were able to travel to a safe mountain ledge, from where they were picked up by a Ertzaintza helicopter and taken to the ground.
Subsequently, the injured woman was taken by ambulance to Txagorritxu Hospital.
