Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of central Minneapolis again this Saturday in protest over the murder last Wednesday of a woman by an agent of the Immigration and Customs Control Service. The demonstration has been called by the Minnesota Committee on Action for the Rights of Immigrants, very close to where the murder took place.
Local leaders, including Governor Tim Walz, have defended the need for the Minnesota Criminal Detention Bureau to be involved in the case, but have reported from that organization that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has vetoed their access to material related to the case. The FBI has left the investigation to itself.
