Yellow warning for heavy rains in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, northern Navarre and northern Navarre
The Basque Government's Department of Safety has activated the yellow warning for heavy rains in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa throughout the day. Euskalmet predicts that a new cold front will leave abundant and constant rains , especially on the cantabrian side, which could exceed 60 litres per square metre in 24 hours.
The State Meteorology Agency has issued a yellow warning on the Atlantic side ofthe Foral Community (north of Navarre) for rainfall of between 40 and 60 litres per square metre in 12 hours.
In the northern Basque Country, Météo-France has issued a yellow warning for rain and wind, as well as an orange alert for the risk of avalanches in mountain areas.
