The Danok have introduced the Oteiza community to promote the figure of the creator
The Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation today presents the new Danok Oteiza community, coinciding with the anniversary of the artist's birth, at the Alzuza Museum. Around the founder, the new association aims to bring people and institutions together to complement the activities and activities carried out by the Museum in Alzuza.
The Danok Oteiza community has presented the audiovisual apostle Oteiza14 , for example, in its first step, created by Oskar Alegria and produced with the help of EiTB.
In this work, fourteen cultural figures represent the diversity of artistic disciplines and cultural interests linked to the work and aesthetic thinking of the creator of Orio: Alicia Otaegui, Ignacio Agüero, Iban Urizar, Esther Ferrer, Oskar Alegria, Josu Iztueta, Sho Hagio, Jaione Apalategi, Richard Deacon, Maialen Lujanbio, Bernardo Atxaga, Kepa Akixo Zigor, Berdez and Berda.
Produced and funded by EITB, the film will be broadcast on the PRIMERAN platform, ETB and eitb.eus. In addition, writer and cartoonist Asisko Urmeneta will write a graphic novel about Jorge Oteiza by the end of 2026.
The Danok Oteiza community responds, in the words of the Foundation, to Oteiza's conception that "art and creation are powerful tools for social and collective transformation and contribute to the promotion of critical spirit and the creation of a shared imagination."
The Oteiza Foundation aims to disseminate the artist's work and thought, form a community and promote a permanent structure of cooperation through the new community.
To participate in this community, different categories have been created, based on the imaginary of Oteiza: CROMLECH (Government of Navarre and Jorge Oteiza Foundation, which brings together the two entities promoting the project), GAUR (strategic partners), EMEN (patrons), ORAIN (collaborators), BAITA (friendly organizations), HITZA (media) and ITZIAR (individual members).
On the afternoon of October 21 (18:00-20: 00) there will be an official presentation of the community at the Oteiza Museum in Alzuza: the presentation of 14 apostles Oteiza, the performance of the bertsolaris Saioa Alkaiza and Julio Soto, the performance ofthe ZUK Performing Arts, the piece Quousque Tandem Abutere , the poetry of Oteiza, recited by Jara Calvo, the performance of the concert by Oier Etxeberria and Garazi Navas.
