Tribute to the filmmakers "Tabakalera Generation, this weekend in San Sebastian
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Cultural Center, this weekend the Festival, the Elias Querejeta Film School, the Basque Film Library and Tabakalera will pay tribute to the generation of filmmakers who have grown up in the midst of the ecosystem.
The Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture in San Sebastian today brought together the filmmakers of the "Tabakalera Generation" to pay tribute to the creators who have emerged in the "unique cultural ecosystem" and to celebrate their work.
In the context of the 10th anniversary of the Tabakalera, the Film Festival, the Basque Film School, the Basque Film School, the Basque Film Festival and the Tabakalera Film Festival itself have honoured the filmmakers who have grown up in the area drawn by the Basque Film Festival: Ja.The Tabakalera Circuit (EQZE; the Noka, New Visions and 2deoSeries programmes; the Tabakalera Film and Audiovisual Laboratory; the Basque Film Library; and the San Sebastian Film Festival) "is articulated to support each filmmaker from the initial phase of his project to the final presentation", in the words of its leaders, and the support of the Basque public institutions has been "essential" to rebuild it.
Projections Friday and Saturday
Tabakalera has prepared the screening cycle Tabakalera Generaldia for 13 and 14 June. In its programming, four feature films and a short film will be shown "to show the formal richness and successful trajectory of the group of filmmakers that make up this generation." Tickets can be purchased at the Tabakalera Information Point or on its website.
On Friday, Historia de pastores (Jaime Puertas Castillo, 2024, 80 ') will be presented by the director himself (17:00), and at 19:00 you will be able to see Frialdad (Andrea Sánchez, 2024, 12 ') and Suro (Mikel Gurrea, 2022, 116 ').
On Saturday, at 17:00, you will be able to see O Corno (Jaione Camborda, 2023, 99 '), and at 19:00, El diablo fuma (and guard the heads of the burnt cerillos in the same box) (Ernesto Martínez Bucio, 2023, 81 '), the directors of these award-winning films (the Golden Shell of the Festival and the best premium opera of the Berlinale).

MENDIFILM, 18th edition of the Bilbao International Mountain Festival
The Euskalduna Palace will be the main venue of the festival and from 5 to 14 December 55 films will be shown, 12 of them Basque productions. At the opening ceremony of the festival you will be able to see "Entre Juan y Juanito" , a film directed by Javier Alvaro about Juanito Oiarzabal. The objects and legends collected by Father Barandiaran, the rituals to repel witchcraft, the phrases and legends related to witchcraft... Urkijo explores the Basque tradition in his third feature film.
