Lara Izagirre's short film 'The Gift' has won the first prize at the Akedikhea film festival in Berlin
Lara Izagirre's short film El regalo has won the first prize at the Akedikhea film festival in Berlin organized by the gypsy community.
The film was shot in the Otxarkoaga neighborhood of Bilbao and talks about the discrimination suffered by gypsies when they go shopping.
In Euskadi Irratia's "Amarauna" program, Izagirre himself has expressed his satisfaction with the award and stressed that "this recognition has special value because it comes from the community itself."
