"Real Stories" at the Fipadoc Biarritz Festival
The 8th edition of the Biarritz Documentary Film Festival will take place from 23 to 31 January in the coastal town of Lapurdi, where 150 films will be seen at the "Festival of Real Stories".
Among these stories will be those of Ukraine and Palestine, the Histories of the Good Valley of Jose Luis Guerin that was awarded at the San Sebastian Film Festival, or, for example, L'homme qui valait six milliards on Julien Assange (Eugene Jarecki), another film on Elon Musk, by the German Andreas Pichler, and the documentary filmed by Navarro Eaux noires Natxo Leuza on climate change in Bangladesh.
A total of 150 documentaries from 35 countries will be seen this year with special attention to the works of Spain and Portugal, as they did in 2023 with the Baltic countries, 2024 with Italy and last year with the Balkans.

"Domingos" and "Maspalomas", among the most viewed films last year
The Association of Film Theaters of the Basque Country (EZAE) has collected data from 2025, with a 6% decrease in the number of viewers in the cinemas grouped to the association, compared to 2024.
