Robe Iniesta, "king of Extremadura" who has left his shadow in the Basque Country
The musician and poet who died today, the leader of Extremoduro, lived in Busturialdea for several years and was closely associated with Basque musicians such as Iñaki "Uoho" Antón, José Ignacio Cantera and Miguel Colino, members of the Extremoduro group, Fito Cabrales and the Gatibu group.

Robe Iniesta (Plasencia, Extremadura, 1962-2025), composer, singer and writer, died today at the age of 63. Iniesta's name is inextricably associated with Extremadura. The head of Extremoduro often appeared as the proud sema of the city of Plasencia, and was proclaimed "king of Extremadura" by popular aclamation, more just than monarchical illogical.
However, Iniesta lived in Busturialdea for several years, before returning to Extremadura in recent years, and had a close relationship, both with the Basque public, in which she has left a deep mark, and with the Basque musicians.
Gatibu, for example, put "Doniene" to sing in Basque on thealbum Diskoinfernu .
Before that, however, Iñaki Uoho Antón was a member of Platero y Tu's Extremoduro guitarist from 1996 to the end of the band (in 2019 they announced a farewell tour that could not finally take place due to the pandemic), and José Ignacio Cantera, a specific drummer and Miguel Colino, both Vizcaínos, were members of Extremoduro from 1997 to 2001.
In the 1990s, the massive success of Platero and Turi and Extremoduro came hand in hand, and a memorable tour of the Spanish State took place between the two groups in 1996. This strengthened the relationship between the members of the group, and resulted not only in relations with Uho, but also in the complicity between Fito and Robe.
In addition, Rob, Uoho and Fito started the Extrechinato y Tu project in 1996, together with the Extremean poet Manolo Chinato, and in 2001 they published the valuable album Poesía Básica , with the collaboration of several Basque musicians such as Cantera, Jesús García Platero and the drums of Tuko, the saxophonist Javier Alzola and the guitarist José Alberto Batiz.
In addition, Iniesta has performed in the studio alongside the Portugalujo group The Flying Rebollos, Marea, La Gripe, Doctor Deseo, Memoria de Pez and Ciclonautas.
In Basque
In 2002, Iñaki Uoho Anton recorded his first album, and encouraged Robe to sing in songs such as "Mila doinaidien" and "Lorak eskaintzen".
Next, on the album, Diskoinfernu , Rob repeated with the captives, singing "Doniene," in 2005.

The great Oñatiarra musician, an indefatigable chronicler of the emotional life of this country, has published the album Lurra ikutu barik (Elkar, 2025), an exciting exercise in music "without choosing, above, some of the themes that have come to me" at a difficult time.
