What are the deadlines if Sanchez calls an election?
If Pedro Sánchez decides to call early general elections, the process will begin when the Cortes Generales are dissolved and the elections are formally called.
The electoral calendar is activated by the publication of the Royal Decree in the Official Gazette of the State, from which time 54 days must elapse until the holdingof the elections, so if Sanchez establishes 29 November, the decree must be published 54 days in advance, i.e. 7 October.
