Gipuzkoa's PP criticizes Diaz Ayuso for "absolute disrespect" at the conference of presidents
The PP spokeswoman at the General Meetings of Gipuzkoa says she is "ashamed" because "freedom is also the use of the official language." Isabel Díaz Ayuso left the conference of presidents when President Pradales began speaking in Basque.
The PP's spokesman at the General Meetings of Gipuzkoa, Mikel Lezama , has expressed his "shame" on the attitude of Isabel Díaz Ayuso at the Conference of Presidents and has described what the President of the Community of Madrid did as a "show".
Lezama has made these statements to Euskadi Irratia when he left the Ayuso Hall when lehendakari Imanol Pradales began speaking in Basque at the Conference of Presidents on 6 June. He added that this position seemed to him to be "absolutely disrespectful" because freedom "is also the use of the official language".
"If you're against using the Euskera, you have to say it in front of the microphone, but it's not going out and organizing that show," he said.
Thus, he said, Ayuso may be doing well in Madrid, but "he often gets into things in the Basque Country and often talks without knowing it and hurts us," he said.
The Presidency expressed its indignation atthe behaviour of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and some Presidents of the Autonomous Communities during the appearance of President Pradales and called for respect for linguistic diversity.
