Delegations from the Basque Government and EH Bildu leave for the United States to participate in the Boise Festival
The President, Imanol Pradales, will preside over the delegation of the Basque Government and EH Bildu will be represented by Congressman Jon Iñarritu and Basque Member Edurne Benito del Valle.
President Imanol Pradales , accompanied byFirst Vice President and Counsellor for Culture and Linguistic Policy, Ibone Bengoetxea , Secretary General for External Action, Ander Caballero , and Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Ziortza Olano, will travel to the United States to participate in the Festival of Boise, Idaho.
The President's official trip will combine the political and cultural agenda, starting this Tuesday, July 29, with the reception of the Festival Organizing Committee.
On Wednesday, July 30, Imanol Pradales will visit the Basque Block in Boise, where he will participate in the BSU Gala for Basque Institutions organized at Boise State University as a sign of the connection between the Basque institutions and the diaspora.
Thursday, July 31, will be a day of great political content. The president will meet Idaho Governor BradLittle at the State Capitol, and will also meet Boise Mayor Lauren McLean .
Throughout the day the President will also participateinthe seminar 'ZORTZIAK BAT' at Boise State University; in the evening he will be at the Sports Night and Street Dance .
On Friday, August 1, the Lehendakari will hold a meeting with representatives of the North American Basque Organization (NABO), strengthening its link with the main network of Basque associations in the United States. In addition, it will participate in an act of recognition of sokadantza as a sign of collective identity and the Basque Government will attend the official reception for the new diaspora.
On the other hand, Congressman Jon Iñarritu and Congressman Edurne Benito del Valle , will represent EH Bildu at the 2025 Boise Festival. Iñárritu and Benito del Valle will participate actively in the International Festival of Basque Culture.
EH Bildu has recalled in a note that this year the Festival will be held again after ten years, since the 2020 edition (held every five years) could not be held due to the pandemic.
Iñarritu and Benito will take advantage of the appointment to "share thoughts and experiences with the many Basque diaspora that will meet in the next few days in the capital of Idaho."
