President Imanol Pradales has framed next Friday's meeting with Catalan President Salvador Illa in the context of "partnerships with those who share projects, values, a way of seeing politics, ."
On his official trip to the Canary Islands, the lehendakari has stressed that Catalonia is an "ally" and that "sharing values, projects and agreements is good, always based on what interests people."
In fact, he has stressed that there are 'some problems that cannot be solved unilaterally' and that allies are needed. Among other things, he has recalled that they need Catalonia to 'defendthe official status ofthe Basque Country in the EU '.
He has also urged to "look less at Madrid and the noise and the bad atmosphere that comes from it"and "look more at those who share values," including "a Europe that is a base camp for us."
