The event was attended by a broad representation of the Basque Parliament, including the Saharawi Minister of Cooperation, Fatma Mehdi Hassam, the Sahrawi parliamentarian Fueila Mohamed Aali and the representative of the Polisario Front in the Basque Country, Mojtar Fade. In her speech, the President of the Basque Parliament, Bakartxo Tejeria, highlighted the "deep and sincere ties of friendship and solidarity" between the Basque people and the Saharan people.
