Colau is willing to give up leadership if that allows a joint list
He said that this single candidacy of the left must be "one-mouthed, without cross-vetoes or red lines," and that the electoral benchmark and the electoral mark can be changed.
The former mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, has stated that the proposal of the Broad Front to run for the presidency of the Spanish Government is not definitive and that "everything can be talked about" if it allows a candidacy for unity.
"Everything can be discussed, I have been nominated as a presidential candidate and it is an honour for me, I have said that if I am useful I will do it with great enthusiasm and I will put all my energy into it, but if later on more parties join the Broad Front and there is another person who generates more consensus than my candidacy, then go ahead," he said in statements to TVE.
In this regard, he explained that this single left-wing candidacy must be "one-edged", without "cross vetoes or red lines", and that the electoral benchmark and the electoral mark can be changed.
He has thus expressed his wish that Podemos and the former Spanish Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, should be part of this future coalition of unity and that the profile of the leader of Mas Madrid, Emilio Delgado, should also be considered.
