The report "Attitudes, Situations and Xenophobic Narratives in Gipuzkoa" by the Provincial Council and the Begirune Foundation states that immigration is a problem for only 8%.

From Monday, it will put in place a specific and temporary mechanism to facilitate the processing of the "vulnerability report" required in some cases within the extraordinary process of regularization of immigrants by immigrants residing in Bilbao.

Interviewed on Radio Euskadi, Counsellor Nerea Melgosa has criticized the Sánchez Government for ignoring the allegations made by the Basque Government to the regularization process, including recognition of the efforts of migrants studying Basque.

In order to be able to make the request telematically, it will be necessary to have an electronic certificate or to do so through qualified professionals or entities registered in the Register of Foreign Assistants. The request may already be made by appointment in person, but the process will begin next Monday, 20 April, at the points enabled for processing.

Counsellor Nerea Melgosa recalled that the Basque Government had requested a positive assessment of the learning of the Basque language and its participation in the training processes.

The process will begin on 16 April, can be done online or by prior appointment, and will be open until 30 June, and will allow one year's residence and work permits.

Regularization will affect about half a million migrants, who will be able to apply from 16 April. The text makes it a condition that they have no criminal record, as well as "that they do not constitute an order or a threat to public security". 

Foreigners in an irregular situation may apply for regularization from the beginning of April to 30 June. The processing shall last no more than three months, but may only begin to work by accepting the application.

The Minister for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge, Nerea Melgosa, has announced that as soon as the "final text" to be approved by the Spanish Government for the regularization of migrants in an irregular situation is known, the Basque Government will draw up and publish in "record time" a guide setting out the conditions and steps to be taken.

The parish of San Joaquín and Santa Ana and the parish of Our Lady of the Snow have opened their doors to 20 Malians. Thanks to the Salburua Neighbourhood Association, 20 other immigrants have had minimal services. Asilo the blockade that prevents them from getting appointments to process applications has allowed more than 300 Malians to pass through Vitoria-Gasteiz since last summer.
