Four Ertzainas have been injured in an attack by several people in Ordizia
A man has been arrested on charges of assault on authority and injury and remains in police custody until he is brought before the court.
Four Ertzainas were injured in the early morning hours of Sunday in the Guipuzcoana town of Ordizia when theywere attacked by several people, according to the Department of Safety and Security in a statement.
The event occurred around 00:18 hours da, when several Ertzaintza patrols went to Araba Street after learning of a fight between several people.
When they arrived, they followed several men who were trying to escapefrom the spot, and at that moment other people, supposedly relatives of the former, threw themselves hard at and began to make the work of the Ertzainas difficult.
One of them has beaten an ertzaina, who has fallen to the ground semi-unconscious, and the attacker has been arrested for a crime of assault and injury to authority, at which point several people who were with him have hit the cars of the Ertzaintza.
Thus, four Ertzainas have been injured, two of whom have beentransferred to Zumarraga Hospital , where the Ertzaintza investigates what happened and tries to identify the persons involved in the incidents.
The detainee, a man with numerous police records , remains in police custody until he is taken into custody.
