The Basque Government's Department of Security has condemned the "boycott" of two ertzainas at the UPV
Some students in the criminology course protested that these agents wouldn't give a lecture, and the teachers decided to abandon the dynamic.
The Department of Security of the Basque Government has condemned at the Faculty of Law of the UPV/EHU campus the boycott of two ertzainas who were to lead a work dynamic in the course of Criminology.
In a statement, the Department of Safety and Security explained that these two officers, at the request of the teachers, were invited to give a lecture for the other students of the course "on the basis of their own experience".
However, in view of the fact that some students could not "protest" and consequently the teachers decided to abandon the dynamic, the Department of Safety and Security strongly condemns the "boycott" received by these two Ertzainas who are also students of criminology. "This type of action demonstrates the intolerance of some people towards the Ertzaintza and the fact that the Ertzainas, like any other person, have been deprived of their rights as citizens."
The Department of Safety and Security has also expressed its solidarity with "the two Ertzainas who have been victims of this boycott and are preparing to provide a better public service".
