Six people from Zestoa will be tried today for an offence against the moral integrity of one of them's partners
At today's hearing in the Gipuzkoa Territorial Court, six people from Zestoa will be triedon charges of allegedly committing a crime against moral integrity against a man, the accused being his former partner and the Zestoa neighbours who protected him, including Mayor Mikel Arregi.
According to the individual indictment, the defendants acted to the detriment of the reputation of the manwho filed the complaint, in the midst of the separation proceedings, through rallies against him, which took place in protest at male violence, for which reason the prosecution has requested penalties ranging from 4 to 5 years' imprisonment.
However, the Feminist Movement has stated that in connection with a judicial process initiated in 2018, six people will be tried for showing solidarity with women in rallies to denounce male violence, i.e. feminist solidarity is what they are trying.
In this context, at 9 a.m. this morning, before the start of the trial, a rally will be held in front of the court to show solidarity with the defendants, as was done at the weekend in Zestoa.
