The social services report on the Zestoa case was "incorrect," according to a technician from the Ombudsman
The employee of the Ombudsman's Office testified yesterday at the second session of the trial against the six citizens of Zestoa.
Inthe trial against the six citizens of Zestoa today it is the turn of the defence witnesses, among whom a technician from the Ararteko has testified before the judge. He has stated that the report of the municipal social services on the case was not correct, not least because the "legal standards" to be considered "in a context of violence" were not met. "The report was not partial and objective," he said.
The trial began yesterday at the Gipuzkoa Territorial Court after a man accused his former partner and the Zestoa neighbours who protected him, including the mayor, Mikel Arregi, who was a councilman at the time of the trial.
The facts reported occurred between 2016 and 2018, and the complainant is a man of a Zestoa couple who was in the separation process. According to his accusation, his former partner and five other people in the village harassed and pressured to renounce joint custody of his son and committed the concentrations and other acts against him, claiming that he mistreated the woman.
In his statement, the employee of the Artekoa office referred to the report made by the municipal social services employee, recalling that the accused's partner went to the Ararteko to report that the report did not contain "a number of relevant information".
The witness has also transmitted to the judge the account of this woman before the Ombudsman, who was suffering "structural psychological violence ", was" intimidated and damaged "and had not filed a complaint with the courts because she wanted to protect herself and her son.
They have also testified as witnesses an employee of the ELA union, close to the child's mother, who said that on the day of the trial held in the Azpeitia Court to decide on the custody of the child, she called the rally that took place in the lobby.
In the same vein, a member of Zestoa's Feminist Corner has declared that he is responsible for convening two other rallies in connection with the case.
Along with them, two other witnesses have been the Municipal Secretary M and the Deputy Mayor of the PNV at the time of the incident, who have made it clear that the decisions of the City Council related to the matter were taken unanimously.
With today's statements, the defense wants to show that the six defendants did not campaign against harassment or moral integrity.
