The jury will have to determine whether the 2017 hiring of the brother of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, as coordinator of the musical activities of the conservatories in the Badajoz Council met all the legal requirements, or whether it was an alleged plug-in case.

Virginia Urtaran, lawyer for Maialen Mazon's family, has valued  that the popular jury has not accepted the arguments the defense put forward as mitigating.
