The Provincial High Court of Bizkaia has sentenced Nelson David Morenoto 18 years, nine months and one day in prison for the murder and fraud of a man in Bilbao in July 2021. The trial was scheduled to begin next Monday, but was suspended after the parties concluded an agreement today.
The verdict , which is final, was handed down by the judge at a hearing held behind closed doors this Friday, in which the private prosecution, the popular prosecution, the defence and the Public Prosecutor's Office have agreed to the agreement, which the accused has agreed to.
According to the ruling, after the murder, the defendant took several bank cards from the victim and used them for various purchases, including a mobile phone and a watch.
Fifth punishment
Nelson David Moreno has been in prison since 2022, serving 59 years for the murder of two other men and an attempted murder.
On the one hand, he was sentenced by the Bizkaia Provincial High Court to 25 years' imprisonment for the murder of one man in 2021 and attempted murder of another, and in August last year he was sentenced to 24 years' imprisonment for the murder of another man.

This man was found dead in his home, but in the absence of evidence of violence, a court in Bilbao decided to dismiss the case, and the Constitutional Court subsequently ordered the investigation to be reopened.
