The jazz tunes will start in Getxo
Cecile McLorin will play Friday in Getxo.
On the first day of the festival there will be a double proposal in Muxikebarri from 21:00. It will begin with the first finalist of the Group Contest, Eneko Diéguez Quartet, a combo led by the Basque saxophonist, which also includes Raúl Pérez (piano), Nicolás Alvear (bass) and Eneko Arbea (drums).
Then, around 22:15, the main concert of the day, that of organist Rhoda Scott, will begin. At the age of 86, she has had intense activity at international festivals, and will arrive in Getxo at the head of her latest project, Lady Quartet, along with Julie Saury (drums), Sophie Alour (tenor saxo) and Lisa Cat-Evo (high sax).
In the Muxikebarri payment program, the quintet of the Cuban clarinet and saxophone player Paquito D'Arivera (July 3), Cecile McLorin Salvante (July 4), the trio of saxophonist Joe Lovano and pianist Marcin Wacilewski (July 5) and Dave Douglas Quartet will take over in the next few days.
The Vitoria Jazz Festival will be held from 14 to 19 July and the San Sebastian Jazz Festival from 19 to 27 July.
