Repsol has earned $603 million until June, 63% less, due to the economic context and the blackout
The company evaluates taking legal action when the responsibilities related to the April 28 blackout are officially determined.
Repsol has made a net profit of 603 million euros from January to June, 62.9% less than in the same period last year. The main reasons for this lower profit are the fall in the price of crude oil, the changing economic context and the blackout of 28 April.
Repsol's turnover in the first half of the year was €1,353 million, 36.4 million less than in the same period of 2024 (€2,126 million).
Also, until June, the operating gross profit (Ebitda) has been reduced by 25% — to EUR 3,078 million.
In addition to the major blackouts, Repsol's activity was affected by the interruptions in the factories of Cartagena (22 April) and Puertollano (16 June).
In this context, the company is considering taking legal action against the blackout once responsibilities are cleared.
