Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranks first for the 14th year, followed by Imperial College in London and Stanford University.
The University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU) is close to the position 600. amongthe best universities in the world, according to the annual ranking of the 'QS World University Rankings'. More than 1,500 organizations from 106 countries and territories have been evaluated.
According to the 'QS World University Rankings 2026', competition between universities is increasing, especially in Europe, North America and Asia.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) remains in first place forthe fourteenth year, followed by Imperial College in London and Stanford University.
The United States remains the most representative country, with 192 universities. Institutions are generally increasing in positions: in Germany, for example, there have been more and more universities in recent years.
Italy enters the top 100 of the world for the first time: the Milan Polytechnic ranks 98. China, for its part, continues to rise; the University of Beijing holds 14th place; the University of Tsinghua rises to 17th; and the University of Fudan rises nine positions to 30th.
The Hong Kong SAR is also the world's second-largest higher education system in this edition.
