Representatives of the "Holidays in Peace" group have confirmed to Euskadi Irratia that the problem of the Saharan children who were coming to spend the summer in the Basque Country with their passports has been resolved and next week they will be able to travel.
The children who come to spend the summer in the Sahara were due to arrive this week in the Basque Country and throughout the Spanish state, but because of passport problems they have not been able to catch a plane.
The "Holidays in Peace" programme, launched more than 30 years ago, offers Saharan children the opportunity to spend the summer away from the harsh conditions of the desert.
