Pretrial detention for a 71-year-old man for sexually assaulting a minor girl
The Ertzaintza has arrested a 71-year-old man accused of sexual assault and corruption of a child under the age of 16 for forcing him to have sexual intercourse in exchange for an amount of money. The accused was brought before the judicial authority on Thursday, which ordered his imprisonment.
As reported by the Department of Safety and Security, last Tuesday, July 1, following a complaint filed by a minor with the Ertzaintza, it became known that since the end of 2024, the complainant had been forced to have sexual intercourse with an elderly man in exchange for giving him an amount of money after each meeting.
According to the girl's account, it was a third person who offered the man sexual intercourse with the girl and forced her into it, all of which occurred in the arrested man's private vehicle.
After investigating the information provided by the minor in the complaint, the Ertzaintza located a suspect in accordance with the description provided by the victim, whose vehicle also had the characteristics described by the minor in his account.
After the investigation was completed on Wednesday, July 2, he was arrested on charges of sexual assault and corruption of a child under the age of 16.
Having completed all the necessary police proceedings, the accused was placed at the disposal of the judge yesterday, Thursday, and ordered to be placed in provisional detention.
