Ecologists in Action has measured the level of NO2 nitrogen dioxide in 78 schools in seven municipalities: Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia-San Sebastián, Errenteria, Oiartzun, Barakaldo, Bilbao and Erandio. Only three of them respect the 10 micrograms barrier per cubic metre installed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The aim is that, by the end of the year at the latest, all Member States should be guaranteed access to the 'app' so that they can have a tool at European level to check the actual age of the user accessing social networks from mobile devices or others.

The new measure will be approved by the Government in the first quarter of this year and will take effect from 1 January 2026.
