The Foundation of Christian Lawyers of Spain has requested three years' imprisonment for 15 of its members investigated in the Bernedo summer camp case
With regard to the investigation into the summer camps in Bernedo, the Fundación Abogados Cristianos, an association of popular accusation in the case, has announced that it will request up to three years' imprisonment for the 15 persons investigated for the offences of exhibitionism and coercion of minors.
In the meantime, the members of the Basque Colonies have announced in a statement that they will not reportboth today's statements and the proceedings on the grounds that they want to protect the rights of minors. Euskal Udalekuak claims that "the media and judicial turbulence for the project began last September, motivated by complaints about mixed showers".
The criminal procedure has been opened by complaints from both parents and various associations and political actors (Vox, Abogados Cristianos and Hazte Escuchar). The members of the Basque Colonies have stated that they have not been aware of the process until September, despite the fact that in July the Member of Parliament, Ana del Val, announced it in the media and on 7 September El Español leaked the data.
The starting point is the allegations made last summer by 17 families, according to which monitors "forced" boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 15 to shower in a mixed manner. From the outset, educators and managers of the Basque Colonies have strongly denied the allegations of sexual assault or abuse.
